We’re a behavior change company. Sure, we sell 360-degree assessments. Lots of companies sell assessments. But that’s not what Envisia is all about. We exist to help people change for the better.
We started offering assessments almost 30 years ago. We've always embraced technology for its ability to make things more efficient. We were one of the first companies to put the 360-degree feedback process online back in 1997. That made feedback programs much faster and easier for our clients to conduct.
But we knew we needed to go beyond just assessments. Even today, most vendors drop a report in your lap and wish you the best of luck. The problem is that doesn't do much to actually change behavior. We needed tools to help people put their assessments in perspective.
As soon we had the technology to start thinking about ways to add missing elements of behavior change, we created Momentor. The first version, Momentor 1.0, was an action planning system based on an extensive resource library at the core.
That was in 2003 and, at the time, there was nothing like it. We brought in consultants with decades of experience to handpick the best books, websites, seminars and articles, and spent a year building the Envisia Learning Resource library, which is still updated each and every month.
We offered Momentor as a resource library and action planning system for a few years and our clients were generally happy. But we knew we could do more; so we went back to the drawing board.
This lead us to create Momentor 2.0. This is system you see laid out on this very website. In this version we focus on goals and encouraging participants to take the actions needed to change their behavior. We moved away from resources being the focal point of Momentor, although the resources are still unmatched by anything else out there. We added a much-needed “nag” element that automatically reminds participants of their commitments.
This is the future of our company. We leverage technology and best practices / theory to help people understand what they are good at and what they need to work on. Then we give them the tools and guidance to do something about it with minimal disruptions to their day-to-day work.
